I say this not because this cinematic endeavor is a verbatim filming of the widely renowned and long-running stage production, but because the theatrical translation does not convey the spirit of Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats very well.
And humans acting the part of cats, no matter how creative the costuming, will still come off inferior to the genuine article.
